Copper-catalyzed asymmetric 1,4-addition of diethylzinc to beta,gamma-unsaturated alpha-imino esters 1 using a copper-phosphoramidite complex affords enantiomerically enriched gamma-functionalized alpha-dehydroamino esters 2.
