摘要：
Performance of screening for any disease generally should only be done in a closely informed verbal consent. The physician has to give objective information about the benefits and harms of probably necessary examinations and consecutive treatments. It does not make sense to perform screening without the precise knowledge of all what is scientifically proven in terms of screening. The following article is a critical overview of what is currently known on screening for prostate cancer.
