Biomimetic nanotechnology with synthetic macromolecules

摘要
The areas of polymer science that need to be advanced to enable the developments in the field of biomimetic nanotechnology were discussed. A new element that should come from biology is the exploitation of secondary structure and its coupling to nanoscale morphology. The most fundamental difference between the operating environments of biology and polymer science is the question of thermodynamic equilibrium. The physicists and the researchers need to work more to ensure a better understanding of the physical environment in which the devices would operate.
