摘要：

The present study aims to analyze the strategies developed by the inhabitants of Minas to achieve soul salvation, in the context of the tridentine Catholic Reform and the manifestations of the Baroque world. The methodology used is the analysis of parish documentation that allows studies in several lines of approach, such as practices and representations of the sacred. For a better understanding of society and soul-saving strategies and "good death", were analysed commitment books of brotherhoods and deaths books of the parishes of Nossa Senhora de Nazare de Cachoeira do Campo and Santo Antonio da Casa Branca that belonged to the County of Vila Rica de Ouro Preto in the 18th Century.
