摘要
This Perspective discusses the morphological considerations involved in the construction of efficient polycrystalline semiconductor electrodes for use in photoelectrochemical cells. The important morphological features that can affect the energetics and kinetics of semiconductor electrodes are described. Select electrochemical synthesis approaches useful in gaining a better under-standing of shape-dependent properties of photoelectrodes and the construction of desirable polycrystalline architectures are also briefly examined. This Perspective will provide a useful basis for optimizing electrode morphologies in order to enhance desired photoelectrochemical properties.
