Purification of biliary protein and its effect on calcium carbonate mineralization

摘要
The biliary protein (BP) was isolated from pig bile by gel filtration. The interaction between Ca2+ and protein was measured by fluorescence spectra. The result showed that there was a strong coordination between biliary protein and Ca2+. The CaCO3 crystals obtained in systems with and without BP were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectrography and powder X-ray diffractometry. The possible formation mechanism of CaCO3 in biliary protein solution was discussed.
