摘要
In this paper we present numerical simulation of the electrical cables using coupled electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical models. Investigating the electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical processes inside the electrical cables delivers relevant knowledge for predicting the performance of these devices. The numerical models are obtained by the finite element method in 2D space. The models for the three fields are coupled and allow an accurate analysis of the phenomena in electrical cables. The influence of some physical parameters and geometry on the local heating and heat transfer is analyzed for some target examples. Also, the impact of the shielding and insulation properties on the global performance has been examined.
