摘要
The terms "extended enterprise" and "virtual enterprise" have been used in articulating the 21(st) century global manufacturing enterprise strategy. One of the key requirements is to develop an Information System (IS) infrastructure to control the interoperability of the distributed, heterogeneous and concurrent systems in the participating organizations. This article presents a network-centric IS infrastructure to help describing global communication support for these inter-organizational enterprises with the background of modem information and communication technology. Intranet/Extranet is focused on as an available technology. Copyright (C) 1998 IFAC.
