摘要
Kerr electrooptic method is useful in measuring electric fields. Three-dimensional nonuniform electric field distributions were measured in dielectric liquids, nitrobenzene and transformer oil, by Kerr electrooptic measurement. The held distributions were measured in sphere-to-sphere electrodes systems. An optical system was composed of a Re-Ne laser, a polarizer, a quarter-wave plate, an experimental cell, an analyzer, and a photo-detector. When a negative high voltage pulse was applied to the electrodes system, the light intensity was measured by the photo-detector. The intensity measurement was carried out at many points in each direction from 0 to pi. From the obtained data, the electric held vector distribution was reconstructed by algebraic reconstruction technique (ART). The measured distributions were compared with the theoretical ones calculated by electric image method.
