摘要
During the past decades, many methods have been developed to translate human electroencephalogram (EEG) to music in our lab, which allows us to perceive neural activities of different brain states in a musical manner. In this study, a large-scale brain head model based on the neural mass theory was developed to simulate the EEG activities from different cortical brain regions. The interactions between different brain regions in our model were determined from the diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) structural connectivity with a coupling coefficient modulating the coupling strength. The EEG from a temporal region of the model was adopted for brainwave music generation according to our previous method. The results showed that for simulated EEGs from a healthy subject and a benign childhood epilepsy patient, the music may clearly tell us the difference of the two brain states that the epileptic brain music contains some unusual variations.
