摘要
The ischemic cardiopathy is an important cause of death, being the coronary revascularization (by-pass operation) an effective therapeutic approach to reduce morbidity and improve life quality. During these surgeries, the sanguineous flow in coronary vessels must be measured, with non-invasive ultrasonic methods, known as transit time flow measurements (TTFM), which are the most accurate option nowadays. TTFM is already a common intra-operative tool, in conjunction with classic Doppler blood velocity measurements, to check the quality of these surgery processes for implanting grafts in parallel with a coronary artery. This work shows improvements achieved in flow-metering, obtained in our laboratories (CSIC, ICIMAF, COPPE) and tested under real surgical conditions in CardioCentro-HHA, for both narrowband NB and broadband BB regimes, by applying results of a CYTED multinational consortium project (Ultrasonic & Computational Systems for Cardiovascular Diagnostics). Mathematical models and phantoms were constructed to evaluate with precision flow measurements, in conditions near to those of real vessels, before the electronic design and implementation of systems to improve TTFM, which include analogic detection, acquisition & pre-processing and a portable PC. Both regimes (NB and BB) provide distinct and complementary performances for different vessel conditions. Specific software was developed to offer facilities to surgeons during their interventions.
