X-ray small-angle and Raman scattering from glasses in the As2S3-CuI system

摘要
X-ray-diffraction and Raman data have been obtained for glasses in the system (100-x)As2S3-xCuI (x = 0,...,20). The position of the first sharp diffraction peak is found at similar to 13 nm(-1), nearly independent of concentration of CuI. From its width the correlation lengths (R-c) were calculated, The experimental results indicate that addition of CuI to glassy As2S3 causes strong changes in R-c, but there are no significant changes in the Raman spectra of these glasses. Results are discussed with the framework of the ''layer structure'' model for amorphous As2S3. They support the picture of isolated and chemically nonreacting CuI molecules between deformed As2S3 layers.
