摘要：

This research, based on a study of primary and secondary sources, aims to provide the first substantial account of the nineteenth-century Parisian colourmen who supplied the Barbizon painters throughout their careers, from the early 1820s to the turn of the century. It includes details on the merchants' activities and brief histories of their firms. The results are presented as a short directory for the used of conservators and art historians.
