Near-field Raman scattering enhanced by a metallized tip

摘要
We show that the enhancement virtue of a metallized tip can go beyond the known limits of surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) by revealing new vibrations and molecule-tip 'chemical' interaction. These features will be demonstrated for Rhodamine6G molecules dispersed on silver island films by a metallized tip near-field scanning optical microscope with a nanoscale resolution.
