Resonant effects in the Coulomb explosion of H2+ by ultrashort laser pulses

摘要
We report the first theoretical evidence of strong resonance effects in the kinetic energy distribution (KED) of protons resulting from the Coulomb explosion of H-2(+) by XUV/fs pulses. The resonances, which are barely seen in the integrated ionization rates, reveal the electronic structure of the bound states of H-2(+). In the sub-fs regime, the KED reveals the signature of the initial vibrational state of the molecule. This suggests that the proton KEDs can be used to probe the XUV pulse wavelength and duration in the fs and sub-fs domains.
