摘要
An approximate analytical, explicit, and easily manageable equation is given for the electrochemical response in square-wave voltammetry at spherical electrodes and ultramicroelectrodes of the Nernstian redox conversion of a surface-attached couple that catalyzes the transformation of a substrate in solution. From this equation, simple expressions for limiting cases of interest correspoding to first-order catalysis and small electrodes will be deduced. Moreover, the influence of the electrode radius on the total current will be analyzed by showing that the response presents three different behaviors depending on the values of the rate constant of the chemical step and on the electrode radius. This has allowed us to construct a zone diagram for a complete characterization of the electrochemical response of these processes.
