摘要
This paper presents the application of the vacuum and surcharge combined preloading method to treat the soft ground can shorten the preloading time for expressway construction of Ningpo City Ring on the soft ground with thicker soft soils. The negative pore pressure generated by vacuum pump can speed up the drainage of the pore water and increase the settlement in the construction stage. This method effectively solved the problem of the stability and large post construction settlement on soft ground. The monitoring result indicates that the consolidation (reinforcement) effect is reliable which can shorten the construction time and therefore reduce the construction cost, so remarkable economic benefit is achieved.
