Orientation movement means that the athletes try to get to all the point targets by using the compass and map to visit each point target indicated on the map and those take the least time are the winners. This is an outdoor athletic activity burgeoning in recent years. No special equipment is needed apart from the compass and map to be participating in orientation movement. The orienteering map, in particular, plays a pivotal role in the movement. Based on the general features of orienteering, orientation movement is named as "map-reading orienteering", which reflects the importance of map in orienteering exercise. But with the continuous development of orientation movement and information dissemination means, many problems have arisen with the copyright protection of orienteering map such as how to protect the legal right of copyright owners of orienteering map has become another great difficulty faced by this sports event.
