Preparation of urchin-like strontium ferrites as microwave absorbing materials

摘要
The uniform urchin-like strontium ferrites (SrFe12O19) with a typical diameter of 3-4 mu m were prepared by a facile surfactant assisted hydrothermal method. A minimum reflection loss (RL) of -22.8 dB was observed at 15.1 GHz with a thickness of 3 mm, and the effective absorption frequency (RL < -10 dB) ranged from 12.4 to 18.0 GHz, indicating the sound microwave absorption performance of the novel urchin-like SrFe12O19. The absorbing property of the urchin-like SrFe12O19 was better than that of the SrFe12O19 particles. The urchin-like structure of SrFe12O19 was responsible for the enhanced absorbing performances.
