A relaxation model of electron-stimulated desorption is used to investigate the influence of temperature on the yield of desorbed ions and to calculate the corresponding temperature coefficient. Experimental data on the electron-stimulated desorption of lithium and sodium ions from a tungsten surface coated with a silicon monolayer are interpreted on the basis of the theoretical results.
