摘要
Background Preterm labour is a common obstetric problem. Preterm labour is any birth that occurs before 37 completed weeks of gestation. The incidence is between 5% and 10% in most developed nations. Aims The purpose of this study was to examine the efficacy of progesterone injection on outcome of preterm labour in patients with history of preterm labour. Methods The study took place in Emergency University Hospital Bucharest. Women who had history of preterm labour were included. There were 35 cases. We had given them 17 OH progesterone (cidulot depot 250 mg) IM weekly starting from 1620 Weeks gestational age and till 36 W. The average age of patient was 28.31 +/- 5.16 years Results In our study we assess the effect of cidulot depot to the previous history of the patients, there was reduction in preterm labour at 34 weeks (<34 weeks=7) In comparison to (>= 34 weeks=28) (P=0.001) highly significant and also reduction in preterm labour at 37 weeks (<37 weeks=13) In comparison to (>= 37 weeks =22) (P=0.001) highly significant. Conclusion Because of the multiple roles of Progesterone in the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy, it has been a natural choice for the treatment and prevention of preterm labor.
