Blended Learning as a Mover in the Tourism&Management Study Programme?

The article deals with the bachelor Tourism&Management study programme taught at the Faculty of Informatics and Management, University of Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic. Reflecting various reasons and changing accreditation criteria, the level of students' knowledge of English was decreasing within 25 academic years. So as to reach the original level as a minimum, the blended learning design was step-by-step implemented. However, no improvements appeared. Therefore, other movers within the process of teaching/learning must be discovered and applied. The article is structured in three parts describing (1) changes within the development of study programme, (2) relating statistic data and (3) providing pedagogical interventions in the form of blended learning. In the final part, a brief review of solutions selected from the world experience is introduced. Their consideration and implementation is expected to result in changes in both the learning content and methodology of the study programme.
