摘要
Regional analysis in hydrology of ungauged basins in quite common. Among the available methods, the Index Flood Method is one of the most used today. The basic idea of the method is to improve the flood estimates in basin with few records or to generate flood estimates in unagauged basins. On the other hand GIS use allows data analysis and modeling, properties that are being used by several areas of the investigation like hydrology, geology and ecology among other many. Furthermore, GIS promotes the exploration of new aspects of analysis. These two aspects are linked in this paper, thus producing a very useful tool. The implementation of the method is explained and an application example is introduced.
