摘要
The research was conducted to study the effect of residues (vegetative and root part of chamomile weed) on seed germination and growth of two species of Barley Hordeum vulgar L., viz., white basil variety and local black variety. The residues that added at the ratio (5, 10 w: w) and incubated for two weeks as compared with control soil (without residues), as there was a reduction in seed germination and growth of barley plants grown in that soil compared with plants grown in the control soil (without residues), noting that the reduction percentage of germination and the length of the vegetative and root part and their dry weight increased with increase of addition of chamomile plant residues, and the results of the primary qualitative examinations showed the presence of secondary metabolic compounds, which are flavonoids, tannins and glycosides in the vegetative part of the chamomile plant.
