Electrically Small Folded Spherical Helix Antennas Utilizing Thick Solution Cast Nanomagnetic Films

摘要
Two electrically small wire folded Spherical Helix Antennas were fabricated using MnFe2O4 nanoparticle thick films for the first time to the best of the author's knowledge. The solution cast method previously demonstrated by our team was used to deposit these films into the cavity. The radiation properties of these antennas were measured. An air filled helix antenna with a volume of 5187mm(3) provided 16MHz of bandwidth and a 1.82 dBi gain at 1.108GHz. A magnetically filled helix antenna with the same volume provided a bandwidth of 23.8MHz and -1.35dBi of gain at 0.986GHz, while another one with different material composition and the same volume provided a bandwidth of 27.6MHz and -1.94dBi of gain at 0.986GHz.
