摘要
This study aims to investigate the effects of the volume fraction of the bubbles in a gap on the machining phenomena of electrical discharge machining (EDM). The distribution and, movement of the bubbles in an EDM gap were simulated based on fluid dynamics. The effects of the volume fraction of bubbles on the debris size and diameter of discharge craters generated by consecutive pulse discharges were examined experimentally. As a result, the debris and discharge craters generated by consecutive pulse discharges showed intermediate sizes compared to those generated by a single pulse discharge in single phase liquid and gas.
