In order to comply with global regulations, many industries (e.g., construction and decorative products, automotive, and electronics) are required to monitor the levels of specific volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from their products. Analysis of VOC emissions is typically performed by thermal desorption (TD) with GC-MS. To a nonscientist, the complex data yielded can be daunting, and interpretation too difficult and time-consuming. To address this, software has been developed specifically to simplify identification of target compounds in complex GC-MS data such as product emission profiles.
