摘要
In this paper, a new converter topology for high speed Switched Reluctance Machine drives is investigated. This new topology helps excitation current built up sufficiently and demagnetize quickly by having an auxiliary energy storage element connected directly to switches. Phase windings can be excited faster by the additional energy storage unit with high voltages. Similarly, phase current can be decreased rapidly during the recharging of this unit. Additionally, upper switches are added in the replacement of common switch to regulate the auxiliary port. These switches enable the phases to work independently. Therefore, it is easier to construct the control algorithms by using this flexibility. The SRM, converter and the control algorithm is simulated using an SRM model based on the Finite Element Analysis. The performance of the proposed topology is verified at various operating conditions using this simulation platform.
