Small-angle multiple scattering of polarized light in turbid media

摘要
An approximate analytical method was developed for solving the vector equation describing radiative transfer in an optically isotropic medium with large-scale inhomogeneities. The method is based on the assumption that the phase function of single scattering is strongly elongated in the forward direction. The method is illustrated by an analysis of propagation of a broad linearly polarized beam within the small-angle diffusion approximation with allowance for two basic depolarization mechanisms (geometrical and dynamic mechanisms).
