Let M be the moduli space of semistable rank 2 Higgs pairs (V, phi) with trivial determinant over a smooth projective curve X of genus g >= 2. We provide an explicit formula for the stringy E-function of M. (C) 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA. Weinheim.
