摘要
We present the characterization of a LaBr3(Ce) detector for gamma-ray spectrometry at CANDU power reactors. The information on the spatial distribution of the gamma-ray field at nuclear power plants is of great importance to ensure the safety of nuclear workers. LaBr3(Ce) detectors offer a good energy resolution and are lightweight, which makes them suitable for gamma-ray spectrometry at various work sites in nuclear plants. A 2 inch LaBr3(Ce) detector was chosen for this study. In order to characterize the response of the LaBr3(Ce) detector, Geant4 Monte Carlo simulations and experimental measurements were carried out. The simulated and measured efficiencies showed good agreement. The efficiency dependence on the source size, position, and the gamma-ray energy was fully investigated by simulations. Gamma-ray measurements at CANDU power reactors are currently in preparation. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
