This paper discusses on the application of multiagent systems (MAS) to industrial applications. It focuses specially on the real-time requirements imposed on multiagent systems and how existing approaches handle the almost contradictory goals of being adaptive and flexible, while also being able to present a deterministic temporal behavior.
