摘要
This paper proposes an econometric model to estimate the time profile of an Origin-Destination (OD) matrix using traffic counts and exogenous variables such as social demographics and zonal characteristics. This approach not only allows the study of effects of factors affecting the generation of OD flows, it also guarantees the existence of the estimates by reducing substantially the number of unknown parameters in the models. The updated time profile of an OD matrix should be useful to urban planners, transportation and traffic engineers, and public transportation service providers.
