摘要
The genus Cedrus has three species native from the Mediterranean Basin: C atlantica in Morocco and Algeria, C libani in Turkey, Lebanon and Syria, and C brevifolia in Cyprus. It has also been introduced in the rim of the Mediterranean Sea, mainly with C. atlantica in France. Cedar has a high heritage value and plays an important socio-economic role, but it is attacked by several pests. Damage can have dramatic effects on tree growth and wood production, especially in case of pest introduction in a novel area. In this chapter, the main types of insect pests are presented and a brief presentation of their biology is given, with control methods.
