摘要：

Reaction of 2-[(2',6'-dichloro phenyl) amino] phenyl acetyl chloride (1) with anthranilic acid gave 2-[2'-(2 " ,6"-dichlorophenylamino)] phenyl methyl-3, 1-benzoxazine-4(H) one (II), which on further reaction with various substituted aryl amines yielded final compounds 2-[2'-(2",6"-dichlorophenylamino)] phenyl methyl-3-(substituted aryl)-4-(3H)-quinazolinones (IIIa-1). All the compounds were characterized by their spectral data, elemental analysis and screened for antibacterial activity against gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
