摘要：
This paper presents the background and objective of the Demo 2000 joint industry program launched in Norway last year. Through technology demonstration and pilot projects, the aim is to accelerate novel, cost-effective products and solutions to "field proven" status for global use. A brief review is given of the needs and gaps identified within the five technology areas constituting the program, and examples are given among the 43 Demo 2000 projects approved to date.
