摘要
The design and structural analysis of any machine component becomes essential for increase the productivity. The purpose of research is to provide the best column support for a CNC machine. A hollow square box is a popular choice for a CNC machine column. A 3-sided column provides weight and cost reduction features. A number of parameters were used to analyse 3-sided and 4-sided columns. The array of the column analysed with the help of ANSYS. Derived parameter method of optimization was implemented to decide about the rank of optimization for the columns under scanner. In order to search for optimum column, most rigid column and most light column, only 14 competing cases of columns have been separated, analysed and discussed. (c) 2021 Elsevier Ltd.
