Time as explanation of eternity in the works of Nicholas of Cusa - An in-depth study of the theses of Boethius

摘要
The presence of Boethius in Nicholas of Cusa is obvious in more than one respect. In relation to the controversial thesis of Stump and Kretzmann, according to which eternity is conceived by Boethius as extant, this article attempts to discover what is the situation in regard to eternity in Nicholas of Cusa. the conicidentia oppositorum must be understood as a particular contraction of eternity, and it brings about, because of its intrinsic limits, other similar contractions, and hence a passage from one to the next. The article deduces some consequences in regard to understanding the point, the instant and time.
