摘要
The major philosophies of pulse magnet design are discussed. Two of these are compared in terms of the von Mises stress generated within the winding at equal fields. The shortcomings of the use of fiber reinforcement in magnets is described and a method for utilizing it more effectively by the fabrication of multiple layers of composite of different moduli is suggested. A number of examples are given of the stress reduction effects on particular magnet designs that can be obtained by using this method. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
