摘要
Bioethanol commercialization has been lately accelerated because of its market sustainability, low price, longevity, alternative fuel energy composition, sustainable output and significant fossil fuel depletion. Several studies are being conducted because of the global increase in greenhouse gas emissions. In this context, the development of bioethanol was heralded as a breakthrough in transforming waste biomass into fuel energy, thereby lowering our dependence on fossil fuels. However, this review focuses on second-generation (2G) bioethanol produced by yeast strains from various lignocellulosic wastes compared with other biofuels. It also addresses the current status, challenges, future demands of ethanol and global market analysis.
