Polyamide/acrylic rubber blend studied by positron annihilation

摘要
Semicrystalline polyamide 6 (PA), acrylic rubber P(n-BA-co-MMA) and their blend PA/P(n-BA-co-MMA) containing 75 wt.-% of PA have been examined with use of positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) in the range from 40 K to 375 K. Positive deviations from the linear additivity law of the constituent lifetime tau (3), average size of the free volume holes V-FV, and negative one of the longest-lived component intensity, I-3, are observed. Systematic shift of the position of the maximum of the distributions of free volume towards higher free volume values is observed with rising temperature. The deduced hole volume expansion coefficients below and above glass transition temperature have values two orders of magnitude higher than thermal expansivities of the total volume known from literature.
