摘要
The paper presents the non-contact optical method of displacements and strains measurement in the experimental mechanical testing of bone structures. The fundamentals of the Digital Image Correlation and their application to the mechanical testing of bone structures are presented. The example measurements in a micro scale for the cortical and cancellous bone tissues as well as for the macro scale measurement of the proximal extremity of the femur are shown. One of advantages of the Digital Image Correlation is the results presentation form which is similar to finite element analysis form. This naturally simplifies the validation process for the finite element modeling.
