摘要
Qualitative modeling and simulation are given a more formal setting in the paper. Markov chains are used to represent qualitative behaviors generated through qualitative simulation. The filtering techniques of qualitative simulation are discussed under this setting. Based on the qualitative simulation and the observation filtering technique, the qualitative observer is constructed. The dedicated observer scheme and the generalized observer scheme are extended, to cope with the problem of instrument fault detection and isolation with qualitative models. Copyright (C) 1998 IFAC.
