Visibility of the Impact of University Extension on the Promotion of the 2030 Agenda

The purpose of this work was to evaluate the visibility of the impact of the extension work related to the Sustainable Development Goals in science communication channels. For this, a qualitative-quantitative methodology was used that combined the following methods: analysis-synthesis, bibliographic review, documentary analysis, triangulation of information and statistical analysis. The results expressed that, during the period 2017-2021, a total of 65 articles concerning these objectives were published in indexed journals, of which only 22 constituted original research articles where concrete experiences of Cuban universities were exposed. However, the official statistics of the Ministry of Higher Education collected an outstanding number of projects, activities and actions that declared their impact on the implementation of the SDG, in the same period of time. It is concluded that the visibility of the impact of the extension work linked to the 2030 Agenda is low, for which it should increase its presence in publications of international prestige, taking into account its daily contribution to sustainable development.
