摘要
A 20-year old female basketball player presented with chronic low back pain due to spondylolysis at the level of L3/4, Coincidentally, she was found to have an L5/S1 pars defect. She had hyperelasticity syndrome of grade 3-5 on the Beighton joint mobility score. The pars was repaired using a modified Scott's procedure. The follow-up was 18 months. Her back pain resolved and the pars healed. Basketball players develop pars interarticularis defects because of repeated mechanical stress on the back. This stress is greater in the mid lumbar region than the lumbosacral area.
