摘要
Plenoptic manifolds pertains to the hypervolume carved out by an object in the plenoptic domain which is in the realm of seven dimensions. The seven dimensions result from adding more degrees of freedom to multiview camera systems. Plenoptic manifolds capture the coherence of the plenoptic function in all dimensions and as such is useful in different multiview imaging applications such as layer-based representations, disparity-compensate and shape-adaptive wavelet coding and image-based rendering. There are numerous ways to capture the plenoptic function and the most popular of which are sensing devices. The functions can be done through single-view cameras or with linear multiview camera arrays.
