摘要
A context-aware wearable computing system could support a production or maintenance worker and could recognize the worker's actions and deliver just-in-time information about activities that are to be performed. European car manufacturer Skoda demonstrate how the system supports the training of assembly workers and quality assurance in the assembly. Skoda assembly-line workers follow a two-step training process, in which they first receive classroom instruction on the theoretical background of car assembly and now they are practicising on a learning island that consists of a specially prepared car body that allows repeated assembly and removal of relevant compounds. Wearable assistance provided online instructions to the trainees about upcoming assembly steps, thereby streamlining the training.
