摘要
The out-of-plane magnetoresistance (MR) has been measured for Bi2Sr2-xLaxCuOy single crystals over a wide doping range from superconducting (SC) compositions with T-c similar or equal to 30 K to heavily underdoped non-SC ones. With decreasing hole doping, the temperature range where a considerable negative MR is observed shifts to lower T following T-c, and eventually the negative MR completely disappears together with SC. This observation clearly demonstrates that the negative out-of-plane MR and superconductivity are closely linked in the Bi-2201 system and it is T-c rather than the pseudogap formation temperature T* that sets the scale for this MR phenomenon.
