摘要
Interaction of fullerene C-60 with triplet state of triphenyl methane dye crystal violet ((CV+*)-C-3) has been studied by the pulse radiolysis technique. It is found that the (CV+*)-C-3 is quenched by C-60. The resulting transient spectrum in the near IR region shows absorption peak at 1140 nm, which differs from that of anion radical of C-60 and has been attributed to the exciplex between CV+ and C-60. Addition of polar solvent does not seem to break this exciplex to give separated radical ions CV.2+ and C-60(.-). (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
