摘要
Magnetic abrasive finishing has been developed as a new finishing process in a recent decade. Based on the unique mechanical structure and trajectory planning of a 3-legged 5-DOF (Degree of Freedom) in-parallel virtual axis machine tool, the magnetic abrasive finishing mechanism is researched deeply. According to the working theory of the magnetic abrasive finishing, a finishing experimental device for free form surface moulds is designed. The influential factors of the magnetic abrasive finishing to the free form surface mould. The tilting angle of the magnetic pole axis, the type of the magnetic pole and magnetic flux density are studied. The results showed that magnetic abrasive finishing not only removed the cutting track from the mould and reduced the surface roughness by using a 5-DOF virtual axis machine tool, but also solved the disaccord of the finished surface by traditional handwork method. It widens application areas of 5-DOF parallel virtual axis machine tool.
